Chua Global Impact Lab

Backing bold ideas
for measurable social good.

We support early-stage builders working on solutions that improve lives and can grow beyond their first proof point.

What we back

Three focus areas. Many pathways to impact.

We are open to early ideas across geographies, organised around three areas where thoughtful work can change outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

Children, Youth & Families

Supporting the wellbeing, resilience, and potential of children, young people, caregivers, and families.

Education & Opportunity

Helping people grow in confidence, skills, character, leadership, and access to future pathways.

Technology & Community Innovation

Backing tools, systems, and grassroots models that help communities and social-sector teams serve better.

Why the Lab exists

Good ideas need more than inspiration.

Many promising ideas stall before they have the chance to prove what they can become. Chua Global Impact Lab helps thoughtful builders move from concept to test, from test to evidence, and from evidence to wider adoption.

Durable social impact happens when deep human understanding is paired with disciplined implementation, honest measurement, and a path toward sustainability.

“Compassion meets execution.”
How it works

A clear, selective process designed to respect your time and surface ideas with real potential.

Who should apply

You do not need to be large. Just clear.

We look for thoughtful builders with a real problem, a credible team, and a sensible next step.

Good fit
  • A real and specific social problem
  • A clear community or user group you understand
  • A credible builder or team behind the idea
  • A testable next step within a defined period
  • Willingness to measure outcomes honestly
  • Openness to feedback, mentorship, and collaboration
Not a fit
  • Awareness campaigns without a practical intervention
  • One-off events with no follow-up pathway
  • Vague app ideas with no clear users
  • Projects with no measurable beneficiary outcome
  • Political or partisan activity
  • Ideas that cannot be responsibly tested
What we look for

How we read an idea.

  • 01Problem severity — does this genuinely matter to the people affected.
  • 02Builder credibility — lived experience, expertise, and capacity to execute.
  • 03Pilot practicality — a concrete next step that can be tested in the real world.
  • 04Outcome measurability — results that can be tracked simply and honestly.
  • 05Sustainability potential — a credible path beyond the first round of support.
